Not sure of your district? Find out if you live in District 7.

I am running because the constituents of District 7  need a representative that will support your ideas, fight for the needs of your community and earn your respect.  My name is James Turknett and I am running for City council to be your voice in City Hall.

I am a D.W. Carter High School graduate, who grew up in Dallas, Texas. At 18, I enlisted in the U.S. Army: serving two tours overseas in Korea. During my time in the Army I served as artilleryman/ chief, NBC Chief, special weapons chief, unit police chief, supply chief, ammo drivers chief, drill sergeant /staff sergeant, and equal opportunity representative for his company. Returning home in 1991 I became a licensed minister, an ordained pastor in 1993, and in 1997 consecrated to office of Bishop and Apostle.

I have pastored over 25 years. Chaired Bruton Terrance Weed & Seed program, with police Chief Gray and Ben Click, and an aide to Eddie Bernice Johnson, District 30 Congress. During my professional career I worked as Agent and President of Atlanta Life Insurance agency, and became a license Coach for business and life transformation in 2015,

I have also shared the stage with Bishop TD Jakes, Pastor Ricki G Rush, Kirk Franklin, Martin Luther King lll,  Mar Butler, Judge Chika Ayiam, Judge Kim Brown and many other religious, civil rights, and various industry leaders. Now I am ready to share the stage with you and be your voice to bring real changes to your community; District 7.
